Suspected terrorists allegedly bombed a train carrying over 900 passengers between Rijana and Katari in Kaduna State on Monday night, according to reports. Where rumors were circulating, a passenger stated that they were in the midst of an attack and had been waiting for help for almost an hour; he remarked, "it is a marvel that I am typing this...share this message every until help arrives."
According to one passenger, all passengers were lying on the ground while the terrorists fired intermittently at the train.
Attempts to contact the Kaduna police for confirmation were unsuccessful.
The train was still anticipated at the Rigasa Rail Station in Kaduna when this story was written. Meanwhile, other passengers who were expecting relatives to board the train were seen making phone calls and appearing concerned.
"Praise be to Allah," one was overheard later. The soldiers and DSS have secured the train. “Alhamdulillah! The army are with us. We are safe!”. The bandits were eventually apprehended, and the passengers were unscathed.
